Cowan Pottery Duet Flower Frog Figure By R. Guy Cowan 7.5 Tall Shape 685
Circa 1920's, this Cowan "Duet" figural flower frog stands 7.5" tall, and sits on a base that is 4.75" long x 1.5 tall. As explained in Mark Bassetts "Cowan Pottery and The Cleveland School", this figural called "Duet" was a complicated design and required numerous separate molds to complete. Guy Cowan, flower holder limbs and torsos were assembled separately and were a collaborative effort by several workers. Shape number 685, this Ivory colored flower frog is marked under base "Cowan", is in factory original condition, no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs and can be seen on page 75 in Mark Bassetts aforementioned book.
