Martha Barr is an award winning professional fine artist with versatile abilities who enjoys working with oil, pastel and other mediums. Even though she has a natural ability to capture a likeness in a portrait, she enjoys painting a variety of subjects.

Her works are included in collections across America, England and other countries. Her talent was recognized at an early age but she was a teenager when she studied with Art Instruction Inc. In Minneapolis, Minnesota through correspondence. She has studied at the John McCrady School of Art in New Orleans, Louisiana, the American School of Art in Dallas, Texas, and briefly at the McNay Institute of Art in San Antonio, Texas.

She has also studied with several outstanding individual artists. A visit to Europe sponsored by the American Institute for Foreign Studies enabled her to study first hand the works of the old masters in museums and cathedrals in seven countries. This study was under the direction of John Dickerson, a professor of art and head of the art department at Richmond College in London, England. Barr also enjoys sharing her talent, knowledge, and experience of many years now with others as an art instructor.
